Black Box

Originally created in 7 days for the SSU Gaming Houses Fall Game Jam 2023

Black Box is an experimental puzzle game in which you cannot see what you are doing. You are shown only the starting layout of the level; as you move through it, you will have to remember the states and locations of each object.

Level Editor

The downloadable version of Black Box contains a somewhat crude built-in level editor. It allows you to create levels and export them to JSON files (located in the "custom levels" folder next to the executable). Anyone with the JSON file in their custom levels folder can play the level.

Now Playable In Browser

As of October 24th, 2025, Black Box can now be played inside your browser! The level editor and custom levels can only be accessed in the downloadable version, but all 28 base game levels are playable in the browser.
